Buddy Baseball is an organized sports program for individuals in Pre-Kindergarten through Adult Hood, with intellectual and physical disabilities. The season is Spring 2017 and games are played at Woodall Field in Paris, Texas in affiliation with Dixie Youth Baseball and the Paris Optimist Club.
There is a $15 fee for players. (Scholarships are available for registration fee; upon approval) Registration is mandatory to play. The season begins with our first game being played on March 25th. More information on schedules will be available in March. (Normally games are played on Saturday mornings from late March until mid-May.)
Each player is provided with a buddy (a consistent one if necessary) and parents are encouraged to enjoy the game from the sidelines. If a parent is needed by their child on the field, it is allowed, of course. Siblings can be buddies, but must be 12 years of age or older by March 24th.
A release form must be signed by the parent/guardian before the player will be allowed to participate. That form will be available at any time by mail or at the initial team meeting. Teams do not normally have a weekly practice. That decision is left up to the coaches.
Registration deadline is March 9, 2017.
Buddy Baseball isn't Buddy Baseball without our Buddies, coaches or volunteers!!! Buddies are individuals 12 years of age or older who assist a Buddy Baseball player during the course of a game. We are looking for buddies who can volunteer for one...three...five....or all eight games beginning March 25th at Woodall Field in Paris. You must committ to helping with 5 of the 8 games in order to receive your free Buddy Shirt.
It is a commitment not to be taken lightly, but one you will be glad you made at the end of the season. Buddies are not coaches, just there to help the player when needed. Some players need more help than others.
For more information, call 903-783-1922 or e-mail us at email@example.com. But if you are interested in becoming a buddy, coach or volunteer; please go ahead and register. We will contact you regarding your involvement.
